This Privacy Policy explains what information Online Money Hacks (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects when you visit onlinemoneyhacks.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you send a message through our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message. When you join our email list, we collect your email address (and first name if you choose to share it). When you leave a comment, we collect your name, email address, website (optional), and comment.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our server and tools may collect your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring website, and the date and time of your visit.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to keep the site working, remember your preferences, measure traffic, and (in the future) show ads. See “Cookies and your choices” below.
How we use your information
- To run, secure, and improve the website
- To reply to your messages
- To send the emails you signed up for, such as the free budget printable and occasional money tips
- To understand which posts are helpful, using aggregated analytics
- To prevent spam and abuse
- To comply with legal obligations
Cookies and your choices
We use a cookie consent tool (Complianz) to ask for and record your cookie preferences where required. You can change your choices at any time through the cookie settings link or banner on this site. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as expected.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are popular. Google may collect information such as your IP address and device details. Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy.
Email list
If you subscribe, your email address is stored with our email service provider (Kit, formerly ConvertKit, or a similar provider), which sends emails on our behalf. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and we never sell your email address.
Affiliate links
Some posts contain affiliate links, including links to Amazon. If you click one, the retailer may set a cookie to track the referral so we can earn a small commission. This does not change the price you pay. See our Disclaimer for details.
Advertising
We may work with advertising networks in the future (for example, Journey by Mediavine or Raptive). These partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads and measure their performance. If we start showing ads, we will update this policy and our cookie consent tool so you can make choices about personalized ads.
Comments
When you leave a comment, we collect the information shown in the comment form plus your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam. Spam filtering (Antispam Bee) runs on our own server. An anonymized string created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture. Comments from first-time commenters are held for moderation.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only with service providers that help us run the site (such as our web host, email provider, analytics, and spam protection), when required by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
How long we keep information
We keep contact messages and email subscriber data for as long as needed to respond to you or to send the emails you requested, or until you ask us to delete it. Comments may be kept indefinitely so conversations stay readable.
Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you live in California, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and share
- Request a copy of your personal information
- Ask us to correct or delete your personal information
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information, including for targeted advertising
- Not be discriminated against for using these rights
Residents of other US states with privacy laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and others) may have similar rights. To make a request, use our contact page. We may need to verify your identity before we act on your request. You can manage your cookie and advertising choices at any time through our cookie consent tool.
Children’s privacy
This website is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including a secure (HTTPS) connection. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
